ZINC

Main Missions

Aims

Set up for more than 10 years in La Belle de Mai, one of Marseilles' alternative cultural and artistic centres, ZINC is a "digital arts and cultures" producer in Marseille, in the PACA Region and in the Mediterranean. ZINC is a producer that assists artists, curates their works and more generally supports art forms via digital technology. ZINC is a centre, constantly alive and available for all to practice, learn, and gain knowledge in digital and multimedia creation, in a dynamic of social appropriation of the cultural and creative dimension of digital practices. ZINC works in a spirit of cooperation, by facilitating networks of professionals and coordinating collaborative platforms. By developing its projects with associated artists and partners, ZINC's field of action is between production, facilitation and cooperation, in a strong wish to raise the awareness towards multimedia art forms. ZINC welcomes artists in residence, diffuses works, develops creativity workshops, organises gatherings, designs and carries out cultural development projects, coordinates exchange platforms and works on different territories. For ZINC, to produce, support, curate and diffuse is to defend these forms and writings linked to the use, the emergence or research on new technology and/or new media arising therefrom. The ail is to enable, through the works and the word of artists, to provide a sensitive and poetic rendering of today's world, whilst asking questions that can provide keys for understanding.
