STEREOLUX

Main Missions

Aims

To diffuse a multidisciplinary program where contemporary music meets new art forms, using digital tools (a musical season open to all aesthetics, a program of multimedia and inter-disciplinary performances, a season of digital art exhibitions, a virtual gallery on the Internet, a festival...). To support new forms of creation that associate technological and artistic innovations (bringing together researchers/creative industries and artists, organising meetings and reflections around possibilities, uses, and concerns presented by new technologies, are some of the chief missions of the Stereolux Laboratory of Arts and Technologies). To participate in the development of our region by supporting local initiatives. To make the businesses and the research section of the Laboratory of Arts and Technologies available to artists for the emergence of collaborative projects. To organise cycles of professional meetings, workshops or showcases about new uses of new technologies. To develop arts education and provide an access to the creative practices offered by digital tools to as many people as possible. To organise artist interventions in schools (high schools and colleges in the Pays de la Loire region) focused on music and digital arts: concerts, lectures, practical workshops... To participate in international creative projects together with partner organisations (Elektra Festival à Montréal, Today's Art Festival in The Hague..). Housed in the Fabrique-Laboratoire(s) Artistique(s), Stereolux, its spaces enables it to provide a constant diffusion of activities, to invite artists for creation residencies and/or research, educational workshops, to host and support initiatives in the fields of contemporary, popular music and digital arts. These artistic propositions can be presented separately or combined in a single event (festival, themed week...).
