NOUVELLES SCÈNES

Main Missions

Aims

From 1986 to 2000, Nouvelles Scènes was a festival co-organised by different structures and institutions in Dijon- The Centre for Contemporary Art, The Consortium, The Atheneum, The Dijon Bourgogne Theatre... It was a renowned showcase for contemporary creation in its most de-compartmentalised forms: theatre, visual arts, contemporary music, dance, performance, text, contemporary classical music... In 2000, Nouvelles Scènes changed and gave up the festival format. Since then, The Consortium has continued to initiate its own productions or those of other companies. Nouvelles Scènes has also become a sort of label, a banner which has gathered a number of Dijon's arts and culture actors involved in creation and new forms. In this manner the Consortium has organised partnerships and deals with companies such as Why Note (contemporary, improvised alternative music), Zutique Productions (jazz and world music), Sabotage, La Vapeur, the Generiq festival (indie music), Entre Cour et Jardin ( “in situ” performances), the Atheneum and the cultural centre of the University of Bourgogne (multidisciplinary).
