GMEM

Main Missions

Aims

The GMEM, labelled as a National Centre for Musical Creation in 1997, chaired by Georges Boeuf and directed by Christian Sebille, is conducting activities in musical creation, research, training and education, production and diffusion of today's music, particularly as part of the 'Festival Les Musiques'' and other events (concerts, installations, residencies...) whose impact is both national and international. The GMEM has opened a vast musical field: mixed music, electroacoustic music, instrumental and vocal music... and is developing multidisciplinary projects linked to visual art, dance and drama. The GMEM hosts creation residencies for composers, musicians and different artists who are likely to benefit from government commissions.
