Benjamin Gaulon is an hacktivist artist. Nicknamed Recyclism, he denounces the planned obsolescence of our objects by enabling them to enjoy a second life with as components of his installations. Two of his artworks are currently exhibited in Paris.
2,4GHZ exhibited on the occasion of Mal au Pixel (a festival taking place in La Gaîté Lyrique) enables anyone to see on a small device the wifi signals of CCTV cameras. Acting like a water diviner, Benjamin Gaulon browse the streets with a receiver, grabs a video signal, watch it on his device, and locates on a map the new signal he just found.
Kindle Glitcher, last-born child of the Corrupt family, displays e-pub books with corrupted files which disable anyone to read them and turn them into only aesthetic objects. It was a commission for Jeu de Paume's virtual gallery on the occasion of the "Erreur d'impression, publier à l'ère numérique" (Print Error, publishing at the digital age) exhibition, curated by Alessandro Ludovico.
